Studying for the PMP certification can significantly increase your chances of passing. After receiving your approval application from PMI your second step is to study for the exam. Step 3: Book and Take the Exam

Once you feel that you are ready for the exam, just book the exam on the PMI website and go for it.

Apply this stage to your PMP study group by capitalizing on each member’s expertise. Share resources, discuss challenging topics, and engage in collaborative problem-solving. The performing stage in your study group mirrors the synergistic collaboration expected in high-performing project teams.

Professional Education

Navigate to the following section of the PMP application form, dedicated to documenting your project management education. Here, the objective is to demonstrate that you’ve fulfilled the requisite number of project management training hours – precisely 35 contact hours for the PMP application.

Ensure you have the necessary details at your disposal before commencing the application, including information about your training provider, the dates of your training sessions, and the name of the specific training program.

It is imperative that your project management education is concluded by the time you submit your application. Although you are not obligated to upload your training certificates during this stage, your training provider will furnish you with a certificate of attendance as proof of course completion. Note that the provision of these certificates may be required only if your application undergoes an audit.

Caution!

Please refrain from filling out this section unless your training course has been completed. Attempting to do so before the course end-date has passed will result in an inability to save the information. The system automatically defaults to the current month if the course end-date is set in the future.

    • Project Title

    • Project Dates (inclusive of an option for ongoing projects)
  • Project Description:
    • Summarize your role, including project objective, outcome, deliverables, and your responsibilities.
    • Aim for a summary ranging from 200 to 500 words, as suggested by PMI.
  • Adding Multiple Projects:
    • You can include multiple projects to fulfill the required experience. The form won’t progress to the next step until you’ve met the necessary project experience criteria.

Experience Months:

  • The duration of experience is measured in months, reflecting the time spent leading, managing, and directing projects. It ranges from 24 to 60 months based on your highest education level.
  • Understanding Project Management Experience Months:
    • Think of qualifying months like elapsed duration and effort duration on a project schedule. Overlapping project dates are acceptable, but each calendar month counts as a single month of experience.
  • Weekly Hours Limitation:
    • Aim to report up to 40 hours per week, acknowledging that occasional circumstances may require more. However, exceeding this limit, especially over an extended period, may prompt PMI to seek justification during an audit.
  • Excessive Hours Documentation:
    • If you do record more than 40 hours per week consistently, be prepared to provide detailed documentation such as timesheets or client invoices in case of an audit.
